Meet Souderton Area Athletes Djecy & Trecy Ngoyi

-- Kipp Ransome

Coming off a historic defensive performance during the 2025 Suburban One League (SOL) season, Souderton enters the new year looking to reload and maintain its standard on defense after graduating multiple impact starters to the college level. Defensive linemen Trecy and Djecy Ngoyi are expected to take up the mantle left behind by the Class of 2026 and help lead the next chapter of Souderton Football, a program built on toughness, discipline, and brotherhood -– characteristics the twins work to embody every day.

For the Ngoyi brothers, football has always been about more than just individual success. Coming from a competitive and supportive family that includes four brothers, all multi-sport athletes who play both football and rugby, Trecy and Djecy have been surrounded by an environment that values hard work and accountability from a young age. Their younger brother Gildha (Class of 2030), along with another brother currently in middle school, are already following a similar path. Their motivation stems from family, long-term goals, and a desire to continue improving both on and off the field. They credit their upbringing for teaching them to respect others, stay humble, and remain consistent in their work, especially when faced with adversity.

That mindset shows up in their daily preparation. Whether it’s in the weight room, classroom, or film study, the Ngoyi twins always push each other to become better players as well as better people. Friendly sibling competitions among the twins happen regularly, often centered around personal bests (lifting), grades in the classroom, and in-game production. The twins view each other as their biggest supporters while simultaneously being their own biggest rivals. Both credit their healthy sibling rivalry for helping build their intense internal drive, which has shaped their development and will continue to push them toward their goal of playing college football together. As they begin navigating the recruiting process, the twins remain open to opportunities at all levels of collegiate competition and place a strong emphasis on finding programs that offer quality academics, strong coaching, a positive team culture, and long-term player development.

On the field, the Ngoyi twins bring a physical yet disciplined approach to bolster Souderton’s defensive front. Djecy describes himself as “a violent yet speedy defensive lineman, capable of stopping the run or, in passing situations, pressuring the quarterback”. Trecy also brings physicality to the defensive line room but prides himself on “being a coachable, team-first player who plays with discipline and intensity”. Their approach to the game manifested into on-the-field results as the Ngoyi’s combined for over 60 total tackles and 4.5 sacks during the 2025 season, despite Trecy’s season being shortened by injury.

As Souderton prepares for another season, expectations remain high for a defense looking to build on past success. With Trecy and Djecy Ngoyi stepping into larger roles along the defensive line, the program is confident that its identity in the trenches will remain intact. For college coaches evaluating future prospects, the Ngoyi twins represent physical players with strong character, a disciplined approach to the game, and a clear commitment to continued growth.
