Interview With Chase Hart
– Kipp Ransome
Relentless Effort and Hart: Chase-ing the Lifelong Dream
Rising junior Chase Hart has one goal in mind when training for his upcoming season with the Souderton Indians: earn a Division I offer to compete at the highest level of collegiate football. An impactful two-way contributor in his sophomore campaign. Hart looks to increase his production on both sides of the ball as the starting MIKE LB as well as being a featured TE in Souderton’s offense.
Hart’s raw strength already rivals DI collegiate athletes. Hart boasts a 525 lb squat, benches 325 lbs, power cleans 295 lbs, deadlifts 615 lbs, and impressive lower body explosives with a standing broad jump of 9’5” and a 29” vertical jump. Despite hitting these impressive milestones so early in his career, Hart is never satisfied. He constantly seeks improvement in all facets of his game, keying in on his “speed and explosiveness” as areas to improve this season while maintaining his strength.
Hart’s impact is not just felt in the weight room, as he is a natural leader who leads by example on and off the field. Hart holds himself to a higher standard than most athletes his age. Driven to be a “role model that kids look up to and strive to be” and someone who is “making his family proud” whether it’s in the classroom, community, or the gridiron.
His coaches describe him as “a physical and determined player on both sides of the ball. He’s our strongest athlete in the weight room as well.“
For coaches wondering what they would be getting in adding Chase Hart to their program…the answer is a tone setting, hardworking field general ready to compete at the next level. Hart “bring[s] energy to the field and in the weight room” and wants to let coaches know he’s “a team player [who] will do whatever it takes to play at the next level.
Hart emphasizes the importance of his desired major as well as extracurriculars the school has to offer when deciding his next step in his football journey. With plans to attend camps at UConn, Penn State, Villanova, Towson, Albany, Monmouth and Merrimack over the summer, the goal of a DI level opportunity is in sight, but the work is far from over. Hart has two more seasons at Souderton, and he intends to continually improve and finish his high school career with a bang.
